Our full road trip was from Orlando, Florida, USA to Mazatlán, Sinaloa, Mexico! This is the first portion from Orlando to Tulsa (map locations A-D).
Orlando, FL (location A)
We left Orlando after spending a month there having fun adventures…
Atlanta, GA (location B)
We visited our new friends Maggie and Greg for lunch in Atlanta after a hike in Stone Mountain Park. The views were delightful and the flowers and trees were blooming!
Conway, AK (location C)
We stopped here to be close to Tulsa, OK to visit friends there! Demure coffee was the highlight of our stay after we enjoyed a run along Tucker Trail.
Tulsa, OK (location D)
Tulsa was fun! We visited friends, Johnny and Stephanie. We began with an Art Deco walking tour by Tulsa Tours that was amazing! The tour highlighted Art Deco (built between World War I and World War II). Because of the nearby oil discoveries, each building tried to be fancier and more grand than the last. Killers of the Flower Moon happened in Oklahoma and the movie has scenes filmed in Tulsa (though it’s not supposed to be Tulsa).
In addition, Stephanie let/taught us to ride her sweet horses. She and Johnny describe them as “big dogs” and they very much each had their own personalities. It was a special experience and we had so much fun that there is no photographic evidence of the horseback riding. We also got our cat fix and their cats even allowed us to give them some attention (one of the reasons I love cats)!
Finally, we visited the coolest named museum… the Cabinet of Wonder. Stephanie has been there many times and says she finds something new each time. It reminds me of cabinets of curiosities as well as the Walters Art Museum Chamber of Wonder in Baltimore, MD.
