Eclipsed in Mazatlán (#16)

The reason that we choose Mazatlán, Mexico for our first destination is because of the total solar eclipse! Our first total solar eclipse was in 2017 when we drove from Colorado to Nebraska for the “Great American Eclipse.” It was an amazing experience and we were so excited to experience another.

Mazatlán had the best eclipse party and celebration! It was also very special that it was the first place that the eclipse was seen on land in North America. We walked down to the beach promenade where they closed the road and settled on the sidewalk wall overlooking the Pacific.

It was the best shared experience as a hush went over the crowd just before the full eclipse and then exploded into cheers shortly thereafter!!! I also forgot how cold it gets without the sun (blankets and sweaters would have been nice)! We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the energy of the crowd and the celebrations included sculptures and fire dancing!! Enjoy!!!
