We supported our love of ships and boats in Charleston by heading to the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum. We started with the exhibit on Vietnam where two Vietnam veterans were so kind and informative!
We also visited the USS LAFFEY (the most decorated World War II era US Destroyer) and the USS YORKTOWN (the tenth aircraft carrier to serve in the United States Navy).
Our final boating excursion was a boat tour out to Fort Sumter where the first shot of the Civil War was fired. It has a great view of Charleston and the National Park Service does a wonderful job of detailing the history within the museum. The boat ride was amazing and we saw the coolest pelican at the end… enjoy the video!
